Female sex workers in sub-Saharan Africa experience high alcohol use and gender violence
Research Read
Female sex workers (FSWs) in sub-Saharan Africa experienced high levels of alcohol use and gender-based violence (GBV), including physical or sexual violence. FSWs also reported low levels of consistent condom use. Frequent intoxication during sex work is linked to a higher chance of recent GBV and a lower chance of consistent condom use with clients. (A.
