CAPS Innovative Dissemination Award
Since 2006, the CAPS Community Advisory Board (CAB) has given the Innovative Dissemination Award for CAPS researchers. The purpose of the award is to highlight the innovative work you have done to make sure that your research is understood and used by persons working in HIV prevention services.
Eligibility criteria
- Any person or team from CAPS can be nominated. This includes faculty as well as project staff.
- Self-nominations are accepted.
- Anyone who was nominated before can be re-nominated.
Selection criteria
Nominations will be evaluated based on the principles outline in the CAB’s Recommendations for Research Dissemination. This includes how the dissemination effort is innovative and how it addresses some or all of the following:
- Audience(s) [study participants, agencies and service providers, the larger community, etc.]
- Venue(s) [community forum, agency in-service, local conference, etc.]
- Format Disseminated [town hall, community forum, social media, an article in the local papers/weekly, project newsletter, website, podcast, etc.]
- Data [process, demographics, pre-analysis, post-analysis, null or negative results, unpublished reports, pre-publication data, etc.]
- Language (if applicable) [dissemination language, cultural language]
Application and selection process
To nominate someone, please write a letter and tell us about their dissemination efforts and what you think makes it innovative. If you can provide examples (hard copy, electronic, or links) that would be fantastic. In your letter, please refer to some or all of the selection criteria listed above. A subcommittee of CAB members will review all nominations and chose a winner based on the criteria outlined above.
