A planned intervention trial reported that 97% of 104 women living with HIV (WLHIV) had experienced lifetime trauma (ELT). As the number of ELT increased among WLHV, women were more likely to report prolonged psychological problems, risky behaviors that puts them at risk for HIV infection, poorer quality of life, and less likely to report being on HIV medication or adherent.
